A Santa Cause: To Florida With Love is a Charity Christmas album we produced & released December 2018. Our goal was to raise money to buy presents for kids who were affected by Hurricane Michael (florida panhandle). The album served as a focal point to our campaign, or as we like to call it “Reverse Kickstarter”. Thanks to the generosity of many people nationwide, we were able to purchase presents for 50 kids Christmas 2018.
The idea originated with Studio Manager Leah Lowrance, who fortunately/unfortunately had her stroke of genius on or around November 30th. This Gave us just 3 weeks to get together 12 artists, record & Mix 12 songs, get them mastered, create art & release to all online platforms. It was a daunting challenge to say the least. We ultimately decided it was better to do something (if a little rushed) than nothing at all.
Miraculously we pulled it off, releasing songs from December 5th-December 22nd. We did this in large part thanks to the help of a bunch of people who donated their time for a good cause: Dan Shike (mastering on all 12 tracks), Ryan Mohr (Mixing “Christmas Song”, “Baby It’s Cold Outside”, & “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”), Tim Schilling (recording/guitar for Matt McAndrew), Aaron Link (recording Dawson Hollow),& Alec Strickland (graphic design).
